Police say the woman was walking in the rain soon after dark Saturday night along Grand Avenue near Fair Park. A man offered her a ride. She accepted, presumably unaware that he had done prison time for, among other things, a 1991 conviction for aggravated sexual assault.

Police say the man was 44-year-old Gernard Gordell Chapple, and that he drove past the direction of the woman's home. When she asked him where they were going, he said 'That's what b----es like you get,' according to a police report.
