Covina man beaten with pipe, robbed in El Monte

Ok.. case in point, do you think this guy was in the wrong place at the right time? Don't go in alleys late at night... That said, a self defense weapon might have leveled the playing field some...

Covina man beaten with pipe, robbed in El Monte: "EL MONTE -- Robbers beat a man with a metal pipe and stole his wallet and cell phone early Saturday, police said.
The crime occurred about 12:45 a.m. in an alleyway near Garvey and Central Avenues, El Monte police Lt. Chuck Carlson said.
The victim, a 21-year-old Covina man, was walking down the alley when a dark-colored 4-door sedan, possibly a Honda Accord, with four people inside approached, the lieutenant said.
Two of the robbers got out of the car and struck the man with a metal pipe, then rifled through his pockets after he fell to the ground, Carlson said.
The man was hospitalized but is expected to recover, he added.
One of the robbers was described as a Latino man of about 18 years old, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds, Carlson said. Another robber was a Latino man of about 25 years old.
No description of the robbers who remained in the car was available.
Carlson said it was not clear Sunday if the robbers were gang members.

Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested

This is a perfect case of the four rules of attack! After you read this blog post head over to http://www.anjingbanfa.com/The_four_rules_of_a_violent_attack.html and read the rules for a violent attack... this blog post follows them to a tee! Also, if this woman had a defender (self defense weapon) thing would be different! One thing to note, which I have not written about is that during an assault try to take as much data in about the attacker as possible.

Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested: "

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives announce the arrest of a sexual assault suspect 28-year-old Salvador Jesse Solis of Los Angeles.

On October 15, 2009, at around 12:30 p.m., a female victim was walking southbound on Soto Street from Alcazar Street when Solis walked alongside the victim and attempted to engage her in a conversation. The victim told Solis to leave her alone, but he continued following her until they arrived in front of Hazard Park. He then pulled the victim into the park’s female restroom and sexually assaulted her. After the alleged assault, Solis ran from the restroom and the victim ran from the park. The victim called police via her cell phone and police officers located her at Fairmont Street and Soto Street.

The victim provided a description of the suspect-Solis and a crime broadcast was issued over the radio frequency. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic with a ‘Nike swoosh’ symbol tattooed on the right side of his head. Police officers located and arrested the suspect at Huntington Drive South and Fithian Avenue. The suspect was identified as 28-year old Salvador Jesse Solis.

During the investigation, Detectives learned of a previously reported attempted sexual assault of a female victim at 5150 Huntington Drive, at about 10:00 a.m. and the suspect’s description was similar to Solis’ appearance. A witness positively identified Solis as the person responsible for the attempted sexual assault at 5150 Huntington Drive.

On October 15, 2009 at 1:35 p.m., Solis was arrested and booked at the Parker Center Jail for Rape. Solis is being held on $100,000.00 bail.

Detectives also believe Solis may be responsible for additional assaults on other female victims in the area of Huntington Drive South and Soto Street. Solis has a distinctive Nike swoosh symbol tattooed on the right side of his head.

Anyone with information about this crime or similar assaults by Solis is asked to call Hollenbeck Detective Division Sex Crimes Detail at 323-342-8992. During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web tips. When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.” Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Dallas police: Man gave woman ride near Fair Park, then raped her

What was this woman thinking? If you have to do this... arm yourself! The driver doesn't have to see anything until he plays his hand out... then its your turn... Self Defense Weapons....

Dallas police: Man gave woman ride near Fair Park, then raped her: "

Thumbnail image for Genard Chapple 2-19-1965 jail mug.jpgPolice say the woman was walking in the rain soon after dark Saturday night along Grand Avenue near Fair Park. A man offered her a ride. She accepted, presumably unaware that he had done prison time for, among other things, a 1991 conviction for aggravated sexual assault.

Police say the man was 44-year-old Gernard Gordell Chapple, and that he drove past the direction of the woman's home. When she asked him where they were going, he said 'That's what b----es like you get,' according to a police report.

"I knew it was him," rape victim says of man since cleared of 1985 Richardson rape

A good case to collect DNA samples during an attack.... keeps everyone from being a victim... and puts the right person in jail!

"I knew it was him," rape victim says of man since cleared of 1985 Richardson rape: "

Looking at photo No. 2, she knew Thomas McGowan was the man who had beaten, raped and held her at knifepoint in her Richardson home.

Jurors believed her, sentencing him to two life sentences in separate trials for the 1985 rape and burglary. The judge ordered the sentences to be served consecutively.

More than twenty years later, DNA testing proved McGowan didn't do it.

'For 23 years, Thomas McGowan was the monster in my mind,' said the victim, speaking publicly Tuesday for the first time about the events surrounding the case. 'I am truly sorry that he spent 23 years in jail for something he didn't do.'

The victim, along with the McGowan, and Richardson Assistant Chief Mike Corley, the investigator on the original case, all spoke during a panel today on wrongful convictions at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Convention in Denver.

Women... beware, bad people come in all sizes and shapes

Being skeptical isn't altogether a bad thing, read this story and see that even a father figure can be a deadly item. Sad but true, it's horrible to see things like this happen; however, possibly of this woman had some type of self-defense weapon she might not have become a statistic. It's something to think about.

The Top Ten Most Popular Self Defense Products

This is good background, and I say that somewhat tongue-in-cheek because this person didn't know about the self-defense weapon, but downstream I'm going to be producing some articles that discuss the various natures of different types of weapons and their particular use. A well thought out self-defense strategy needs to include various weapons as well as good empty-handed techniques. This particular article is a good overall article to understand what types of self-defense weapons are available to the public. Make sure and visit http://www.selfdefenseweaponsite.com for other more powerful weapons and options.

The Top Ten Most Popular Self Defense Products: "Self defense products have become a first line of defense for men women and kids throughout the world because they work. Here are my top ten most popular self defense products from my experience. See how they might help you defend yourself."

Crime Clock of Index Crimes in Texas

I read this article and I wondered what the crime Index or crime clock might look like in other states? However, what's shocking is about three quarters of the way down the article you get a chance to see what the crime rates are in Texas. Rape every hour? That's a shocking number and something that I find totally appalling when we have options to not be a victim. Take control of your physical well-being and learn self-defense and to carry self-defense weapons such it you're not one of these statistics. Make sure that when you take a martial arts or women's self-defense class that you ask your instructor about carrying self-defense weapons.

Crime Clock of Index Crimes in Texas: "What is an index crime and how often do they take place in Texas? In this article I will identify what index crimes are and how often they take place in Texas. The statistics are really going to blow your mind and give you some perspective on the importance of personal security and self defense."

Women's Self-Defense - Understanding Body Language & Pre-Attack Indicators

For a start this is a good article to understand that attackers can, most of the time, actually tell you what they are going to do. 99.9% of all the attacks usually have warning signs and this article points out a few of them, although not all of them. It's a good read to start to lay the foundation for understanding when you are going to become or get attacked, whether you decide to be a victim or not is still in your control. Remember to go visit our main site for more articles and to become familiar with the types of self-defense weapons that you may wish to carry. The site is http://www.pdws.biz

Women's Self-Defense - Understanding Body Language & Pre-Attack Indicators: "Predators will exhibit unconscious body language cues prior to a full attack. If you start seeing these unconscious verbal cues and your gut is telling you something is wrong, activate your self defense plan and get distance between you and a potential predator."
